Assessing Cyber Security: A meta-analysis of threats, trends and responses to cyber attacks
Worldwide reporting on cyber security incidents and crime lacks common agreed definitions, metrics and standards for risk assessments and reporting. A meta analysis shows that reports are confusing, partially not comparable and incomplete. Awareness of effectiveness, efficiency and good governance of cyber security efforts is still in it’s infancy. A call for a common framework approach, structured data collection and interpretation should be a next step in trying to achieve understanding what is effective, efficient and a good standard.
