Building a Secure Tracking and Tracing system for postal services leveraging Blockchain and Attribute Based Encryption

Postal services around the world are using tracking and tracing systems in logistic processes. While these systems provide great value to both the organisation and its customers, they contain severe vulnerabilities. Information is shared openly, making it easy to know the contents of a package, even if there is no need to. If a track and trace system is compromised, it is possible to alter the recorded chain of custody. Malicious actors can hide their actions by doing so. INNOPAY and a consortium headed by Poste Italiane are exploring ways to track and trace packages to omit these vulnerabilities.
